Terms of Service

The practical rules for using Osita, without the fog.

Effective date: 1 August 2026 · Last updated 1 August 2026

Using Osita means accepting these terms

Osita operates the Osita app, website, and related services. These Terms of Service govern your use of them. By creating an account or using Osita, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who Osita is for

Osita is designed for parents and guardians organizing their own household. You must be legally able to agree to these terms. Osita is not designed for children to create or operate accounts independently.

What the service does

Osita turns family and school email into a shared household feed, calendar, to-dos, and reminders. You can send mail to Osita by forwarding it or, when offered, by connecting a supported inbox with read-only permission.

Osita uses automated systems to classify mail and extract details. Those systems can make mistakes. Always check the original message before relying on a deadline, payment, location, schedule change, cancellation, medical instruction, or other important detail. Osita is an organizational aid, not the official source of information from a school or activity provider.

Your account and household

Provide accurate account information, protect access to your account, and promptly tell support@getosita.com if you believe it has been compromised. Invite only people who are authorized to see your household’s shared information. You are responsible for activity through your account unless you have told Osita that the account is compromised.

Email connections and forwarding

Connect or forward only mailboxes and messages that you are authorized to use. A connected inbox grants Osita read-only access for the features you choose; it does not allow Osita to send, modify, move, or delete your mail. You can disconnect a provider in the app or remove Osita’s access through that provider.

Your email provider may apply its own terms and may change, restrict, or discontinue its services. Osita cannot guarantee that a third-party connection will always remain available. Forwarding remains available without granting inbox access.

Acceptable use

Do not use Osita to break the law, violate another person’s rights, access data without permission, distribute harmful code, interfere with the service, probe or bypass its security, or place an unreasonable load on its systems. Do not use Osita as a bulk-mail, surveillance, or commercial data-extraction service.

Privacy

Osita’s Privacy Policy explains what information the service accesses, how it is used, how long it is kept, and how to request deletion. It is part of the agreement between you and Osita.

Third-party services

Osita relies on services provided by companies such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, and cloud infrastructure providers. Your use of those services is also governed by their terms. Osita is responsible for its own service, but not for third-party products or outages outside its control.

Plans and payment

When Osita offers a paid plan, its price, billing period, renewal terms, and cancellation options will be shown before you purchase. Purchases made through an app store are billed and managed by that store, and its payment, cancellation, and refund rules apply. Nothing in these terms removes any consumer right that the law does not allow you to waive.

Your content and Osita’s software

You keep your rights in the information you provide or connect. You give Osita permission to process that information only as needed to provide and protect the service in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Osita owns its app, website, software, design, branding, and other service materials. Subject to these terms, Osita gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your household. This does not transfer ownership of the service or allow you to copy, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit it.

Feedback

If you send ideas or feedback, Osita may use them without restriction or payment to you. You are not required to provide feedback.

Availability and changes

Osita may add, remove, or change features as the product develops. The service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, security, third-party outages, or other operational reasons. Osita does not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

These terms may also change. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and, when appropriate, communicated through the app or account email. Continuing to use Osita after the new terms take effect means accepting them.

Account suspension and deletion

You may stop using Osita at any time and can request deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. Osita may suspend or end access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, comply with law, or respond to a material violation of these terms. When practical, Osita will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Warranty disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, Osita is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some places do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so those exclusions may not apply to you.

Limits on liability

To the extent permitted by law, Osita is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or opportunities arising from your use of the service. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
